Three things | STFO 🤘

I have three things to tell you today.

First Thing: On Perfectionism

For the first time in a while (thanks to my book and Deborah — the organizer — not giving up for three years), I’ll be speaking at the free online event Productivity for Perfectionists on April 14.

My session was pre-recorded so I can already tell you that it went much better than I thought it would; Deborah (the organizer) did a really good job at extracting real tips to procrastinate less and do more things that lift you up.

Second Thing: On Beta Reading

After forking out $36,000 upfront to a "professional" book publishing company called Scribe Media and losing it all last year after they declared bankruptcy, it feels so good to see this.

And by 'this,' I mean the 500+ comments left by 22 beta readers on the first version of my manuscript.

It feels so good to FINALLY have others (outside of me and my imaginary friend Jean-Marc the screen cleaning bottle) take a look at it.

Next steps:

- Process the feedback
- Make the relevant changes
- Upload V2 of the manuscript
- Send an email to the second group of beta readers

LFG.

Third Thing: On Audience Building

Yesterday, I published the first part of my practical guide to audience building when starting from zero — which essentially answers this specific question:

Is it possible to get good-quality leads without an audience, without spending money on ads, without posting reels on Instagram three times a day, and without sounding like a Jehovah's Witness desperate to convert their first non-believer?

I've been asked about this so much lately that I decided to lay it all out in a simple, no-nonsense step-by-step process.

I'll be writing and publishing the rest of it next week.
